DEPUTY Prime Minister and Defense Minister Prawit Wongsuwan scored 9.8 out of 10 in the latest Suan Dusit poll for handling a project to resolve non-formal lending very well, INN News reported today (October 22, 2018).
The survey, conducted on 582 people during October 17-21, showed that 89% of the respondents knew of this project headed by Gen Prawit whereby the government and the National Council for Peace and Order invited lenders and debtors in for mediation talks and succeeded in alleviating the hardship of around 200,000 people.
When asked about the level of satisfaction with this project the majority, 94.34%, said they were very satisfied for some key reasons such as getting their land title deed back, the government having helped the public very well, their hardship and debt being reduced, their debts being cleared, and not having to pay a high interest anymore.
Those who were quite satisfied, 4.98%, gave the same reasons as those who were very satisfied.
Only 0.68% were dissatisfied with their reasons being that this problem should not be resolved this way, they had already cleared a lot of debts or were still shouldering the same amount of debt.
The majority of the respondents, 36.10%, heard about the project from TV; 29.55% from friends and acquaintances; 18.78% from government officials; 7.86% from Facebook; and 2.18% newspapers.
