Taxi driver returns 100K to Japanese man.

A taxi driver returned 100,000 THB to a Japanese man on 25 February 2020. Pratuang Klongkaew 55 years old a taxi driver in Bangkok returned a backpack back to Masaomi Fukurono 49 years old from Japan. Masaomi left behind his backpack after using Pratuang’s services at 4 am. Pratuang is seen returning the money with Jaiton Sriwangpon, Jitpongsai Sriwangpon, and Masaomi at the FM91 Traffic Pro Station.

Pratuang stated that he was delivering a tourist passenger at a condo on Rama 4 road, while she was exiting the car the passenger handed a grey and blue backpack to Pratuang and asked who the backpack belonged to. At the time Pratuang didn’t look inside the bag and just placed it on the front passenger seat. He went to return the taxi at 6 am and took the backpack home with him. While having breakfast with his wife, Pratuang opened the backpack and discovered 100,000 THB inside.

When asked how he felt when seeing the stack of cash, Pratuang stated he didn’t feel anything because it wasn’t his money and he didn’t want to keep it. Pratuang wanted to return the money but didn’t know how to find the owner so he called FM 91 at 1644 and asked the station to help find the owner.

Masaomi revealed that he was with another Japanese friend when he called a taxi to On Nut BTS Station. Not long after leaving the taxi he realized the backpack was no longer with him. The 100k didn’t even belong to him, his friend asked Masaomi to carry the cash for him. He never expected to find the cash because the backpack could’ve been picked up by the next passenger. The Japanese man was extremely happy after FM 91 contacted him and will be returning the money to his friend.
