A 52-year-old fried-pork seller in the coastal Thai province of Rayong was arrested yesterday (March 27, 2021) and charged with helping to buy votes for a mayor election candidate.
Police detectives found a name list of six voters in his shirt pocket.
The fried-pork seller told the police detectives that he was hired by a female friend to give 500 baht each to six persons to vote for a particular mayor candidate. He himself got 300 baht.
The suspect was charged under the Law on Local Election Candidates and sent to Rayong Muang District Police Station for legal action.
