PRIME Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra held talks with executives of Trip.com while attending a tourism trade fair in Berlin, Germany, with an agreement reached to jointly launch a package to stimulate tourism during the current Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025, Naewna newspaper said this evening (March 6).
Aside from jointly launching a tourism promotional package the two parties will also be introducing tourism activities in Thailand to meet the needs of tourists and keep up with global trends.
Trip.com executives said they have been cooperating the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and Tourism Authority of Thailand in promoting Thailand with this resulting in many successes and have also supported sales via social media.
They are confident that 2025 will be a golden year for Thai tourism.
At the same time, Trip.com executives praised the Thai Prime Minister for being a new generation leader who knows how to use social media and is one of the leaders with the most followers and likes in China.
At 10 a.m. in Berlin (4 p.m. in Thailand) Paetongtarn visited the Thailand booth at the Internationale Tourismus-Börse or ITB Berlin 2025 for the second day in a row with this also being the event’s last day.
She was accompanied by Minister of Tourism and Sports Sorawong Thienthong , this ministry’s permanent secretary Ms. Nantariya Thaweewong and TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatpaibool.
The Prime Minister held talks with some entrepreneurs and 30 buyers from across Europe with 25 being new ones. She also participated in Scents of Thai DIY workshop where Thai sachets containing dried flowers and scented with Thai flower oils were made.
She also inspected the Thailand Green Destinations Map counter, which presents Thai tourism products that meet sustainability standards both domestically and internationally, and watched a demonstration of Thai boxing, which is very popular in Europe.
