Rush to help flooded Hua Hin community
AFTER torrential all-night rain officials today (Nov. 21) went out on flat-bottom boats to move residents of a heavily-flooded community in Hua Hin soi 102 to a temporarily shelter, Thai News Agency reported.
Mr Kittikorn Thepyuamnuay, head of Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, said it was still raining intermittently today after an all-night heavy lashing.
A team of doctors and nurses from Pranburi military camp and Hua Hin municipality officials had gone on flat-bottom boats to help residents and those who are sick at Pongrat housing estate in Hua Hin Soi 102 and have moved them to a temporarily shelter in Hua Hin town.
The floodwater is as high as 2 meters because this community is located on a low-lying area and when it rains heavily it does tend to get flooded.
Many official units have also brought in pumps to help drain out the floodwater quickly.
