Forest runoff surges into parts of Chacheongsao
FOREST runoff gushed into parts of Chacheongsao province, which lies east of Bangkok, and in some areas the flooding is almost a meter high, INN News reported this morning (April 18).
Water from Khao Ang Rue Nai Wildlife Sanctuary, that covers parts of 5 eastern provinces (Chacheongsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Sa Kaeo) suddenly flowed into Tha Takiap district, with the flooded housing estates lying to the north of next door Chonburi province.
Residents chaotically moved their belongings and vehicles as the forest runoff very quickly surged in.
Latest report says 30 houses are still flooded and the floodwater has started dropping.
Meanwhile Thai Meteorological Bureau chief Wanchai Sakudomchai told INN News that the fluctuating weather across Thailand will likely ease after April 19 with this to be followed by another hot spell.
The heavy thunderstorms hanging over the Northeast will slowly move westwards, as will the storm clouds covering the North, Central and East.
Meanwhile the South will have increased rain from Petchaburi till Nakhon Si Thammarat provinces.
Provinces that have to be extra careful of turbulent weather are Rayong, Chonburi and Chachoengsao in the east; and Nakhon Nayok, Suphan Buri, Petchburi and Sukhothai in the central region.
