Seven things to do when you face a wild jumbo
THE office of Kaeng Krajan National Park in the southern Thai province of Prachuap Khiri Khan today (April 20) advised motorists to strictly follow seven rules when they encounter wild elephants walking inside the park.
- Keep at least a 30-metre distance from the elephant in front of the car.
- Don’t honk the car horn.
- Turn off the flash when taking a photo of elephants.
- Don’t turn off your car engine while driving behind an elephant.
- Don’t stop a car to look at an elephant because it will obstruct other cars.
- Don’t get out of the car to take a photo of elephants.
- When you turn off the car engine, the elephant will come close to detect the car and will walk away afterwards.
