10 luxury hotels in hot water for using fake permits – ThaiResidents.com
AIR-TIGHT evidence has been found that 10 luxury hotels at popular seaside town Hua Hin have been operating with fake permits and legal action is being taken against them, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported today (May 16).
Prachuab Kriri Khan deputy governor Mr Somporn Pachipetch together with Hua Hin district deputy chief Mr Chaichay Mulmark had submitted documents to police investigators at Hua Hin station showing that these 10 hotels used forged documents to run their business with this going against Thai Hotel Act BE 2547.
Police investigation confirmed that all 10 hotels were operating with fake permits as none of their names appeared in district or provincial ledgers.
Spreading in the Line messaging system is that a former governor and deputy governor raked in 1 to 1.8 million baht for each fake permit they issued to hoteliers during 2014-2015.
Prachuab Kriri Khan governor Phanlop Singhsaenee ordered that legal action be taken against all 10 hotels because there is evidence of corruption.
