2 foreign tourists die in gunfight by Thai gangs
TWO tourists, an Indian and a Laotian, were killed when they got trapped in a shootout between 2 groups of Thais at a famous shopping mall in Ratchaprarob area while 5 others got wounded, INN News reported this morning (Oct 8, 2018).
Pol Capt Aphiphob Chanthrasoda, deputy head for investigation at Phaya Thai station, and other policemen rushed to the car park of Watergate Pavilion shopping mall where rescuers were quickly rushing the 5 wounded people, 2 Thais, 2 Indians and a Laotian, to the hospital.
The foreign tourists and visitors were eating in the vicinity of this car park when 2 groups of Thais ran out of a snooker bar and started a gun battle.
Police said the 2 groups had a fierce verbal clash at a snooker table before they drew their weapons and started firing and chasing each other.
It is not known whether any of the Thais in the groups who fought each other got injured but they all tried to escape.
Police are currently going through video clips from CCTV cameras in the area to identify and arrest the culprits
