Police find no prostitution at Pattaya Walking Street.
Police Colonel Pongpan Wongmaneethed from the Chonburi Police with the Tourist Police, Immigration Police, and other official forces inspect the nightlife scene on Pattaya Walking Street in Pattaya City, Chonburi Province on the 6th of this month.
The officials inspected various businesses that showed signs of being a location where illegal activities could be carried through, such as prostitution, hiring illegal immigrants, registration information, and more. The goal of the inspection is to make sure that there are no illegal activities being carried on by business owners in the area and to protect the safety of both local and foreign tourists.
The Pattaya Walking Street is one of the most popular nightlife destinations in Thailand. It is a long street lined with restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and other businesses aimed towards providing tourists with a good time during their holidays. The Walking Street is also a shopping destination with tattoo shops that is also popular amongst Thai locals.
Col. Pongpan reported that upon the inspection, no businesses were found involved in illegal activities. All nightlife businesses had the proper registration required for the specific type of business and Urine Drug Screening showed no results of any staff on drug use. The police will continue to perform random inspections in the future to make sure that Walking Street remains a safe area.
Lastly, Col. Pongpan wants tourists to avoid supporting illegal businesses and to not break the law, such acts can be supporting the growth of illegal businesses. All official sectors promise to work together with the goal of more inspections performed on Walking Street.
