School’s rules on Valentine’s Day

The director of a well-known school in the central Thai province of Ratchaburi is in hot water today (Feb 14, 2020) after he issued a statement barring students from bringing flowers or pinning stickers on their shirts to celebrate Valentine’s Day, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported.

In his statement, the director also said that “female students must behave properly and on Valentine’s night our inspectors will take action if they find students in improper places.”

The school’s statement was shared online, with a lot of readers saying that the school has violated the rights of its students.
