Drunk taxi driver drives into Win motorbike Station, 8 injured.
A drunk taxi driver drove into a Win motorbike station on RamKhamhaeng Road, 8 persons are injured as a result of the accident. Local teams in the area received several notifications on 12 June 2020 about an accident caused by a drunk taxi driver with a Bangkok license plate. The taxi drove straight into a Win station, this is where Win motorbike drivers gather in an area to wait for customers or to take a break from working. The accident took place in front of RamKhamhaeng Soi 60/1. Officials and rescue team members arrived to find a Pink Toyota and motorbikes laying on the road. 8 persons have been injured and 2 are in critical condition. 4 motorbikes and a food cart selling coffee nearby the station were damaged
The 8 injured persons include 2 females and 6 males. 2 of these persons are critically injured and have been delivered to the Vejthani Hospital. The other 6 injured persons have been delivered to the RamKhamhaeng Hospital, Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital, Sirindhorn Hospital, and Nawamin Hospital. There are also 4-5 persons with minor injuries that don’t want to go to the hospital. Officials delivered the taxi driver to Hua Mak Police Station. He was found drunk behind the driving wheel and when officials checked his blood alcohol content the result came out at 147 milligrams of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.

Now, if your drunk driving has caused injury to another person the punishment increases to the imprisonment of 1-5 years, a fine of 20,000-100,000 THB, or both. The court can also temporarily suspend your driver’s license for at least 1 year, or revoke your license. If your drunk driving has resulted in another person being critically ill the punishment increased to imprisonment of 2-6 years, a fine of 40,000-120,000 THB, or both. The court can temporarily suspend your driver’s license for at least 2 years, or revoke your license. In the worst case that your drunk driving has caused someone’s death, the punishment increases to the imprisonment of 3-10 years, a fine of 60,000-200,000 THB, or both, and the court can revoke your license.
