Illegal teakwood planks found in unlicensed private car
Answering a call from a villager about a car accident, policemen from Nampad Police Station in the northern Thai province of Uttaradit were surprised to find 28 teakwood planks hidden behind the back seats of an unlicensed four-wheel drive car.
The wooden planks, worth 117,500 baht, were freshly cut, with no official stamps, the Thai-language Daily News reported yesterday (July 18, 2020).
Forestry official Jirasak Pamoh said the teakwood was cut in Jarim National Park, and was on its way to the northern province of Phrae.
