Restaurant owner apologizes after tested positive for Covid-19.
A famous restaurant owner in Bangkok tested positive for Covid-19 and has apologized to customers on the matter. This is the owner of Somsak Pu-ob 2nd Branch located near BTS Krung Thonburi Station. The restaurant is now temporarily closed for safety. The patient advises customers to watch if they develop any Covid symptoms. The restaurant’s Facebook Page posted on 21 December 2020 revealing that Rat the owner has tested positive for the virus.
The post stated “Hello customers. As the admin, I am sorry as we had to wait for the test results to come out. Today the owner of our 2nd branch restaurant K.Rat has tested positive for Covid-19 after she was tested on the 20th. We apologize that our customers were dragged into this situation. We followed the news closely and realized the province was not on lockdown and Thais were still allowed to travel in and out of Samut Sakhon (except to the main shrimp market). Restaurants in Bangkok were also allowed to continue with business as usual. K.Rat has no symptoms of the virus but decided to go in for a test after seeing the news. She hasn’t been to the Mahachai market since the 16th and the area she visited was not the main shrimp market but a small shrimp farm near the clock tower”.
The page also revealed to followers that the owner went to the Phyathai 3 Hospital and notified the hospital that she went to the Mahachai Hospital but they still didn’t offer free Covid-19 testing. The restaurant believes free tests might only be offered to those who visited the main shrimp market. The restaurant also wonders like others in the country why testing for Covid-19 is not free, especially for those who visited Samut Sakhon. The restaurant will continue paying its employees while the business will be closed for at least 14 days.
