Bangkok’s landmark hotel to be demolished
ONCE the tallest building in Bangkok, the 47-year-old Dusit Thani Hotel will be demolished to make way for a new hotel and shopping complex, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported today (March 7).
In its place will be a shopping mall, condos and green space on the corner of Silom Road with the redevelopment to be a mixed-use property, the Dusit Thani Group announced on Monday.
The 36-billion-baht project is a joint venture between the hotel group and Central Pattana, which already owns 30 shopping malls under the Central brand around Thailand, according to Khao Sod.
