Astonishing sign offering to buy haunted houses put up in Rayong
MOTORISTS driving along a road in Rayong were shocked to see a sign saying two persons whose names and telephone numbers were clearly stated wanted to buy haunted houses, Naewna newspaper said this evening (Nov.21).
This mysterious sign became the talk of the town after a 48-year-old man, only identified as Uncle Kai, spotted it while driving through this road which cut across a field behind Wat Krok Yai Cha temple in Rayong city district. As it is a very strange sign he took a photo of it and posted it on social media in case anyone wanted to find out more about the offer to buy spooky houses.
Later a reporter went to this spot and saw that the sign was posted in front of a motorcycle wash shop which is at the rear of the temple and less than 50 metres from a crematorium.
The reporter called one of the two phone numbers and reached Ms. Suthima Rungsrirat, 33, and arranged to meet her for an interview.
Suthima, or Khun Ploy, said she was already buying old houses for renovation and resale and wanted to put a striking sign. She then came up with the idea of offering to buy haunted houses because old houses are similar to spooky ones.
Her mother complained that that is not auspicious but she still went ahead and chose this spot because it creates the right atmosphere.
This sign has led to some customers contacting her to sell their houses. One of them asked whether she wanted to buy a house that has a ghost outside.
She added that her company buys all old houses and renovates them for sale. Some of their customers are not so serious about the background of the house but for those who are concerned they arrange a merit-making ceremony to get rid of the ghosts for free.
