Dog butcher arrested in Thai province
A 60-year-old man was arrested in the northeastern Thai province of Nakhon Phanom for killing a dog and selling its meat in his village, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported today (April 18).
The arrest followed an investigation by Watchdog Thailand into dogmeat trade in Don Khao Lam Village in That Phanom District of Nakhon Phanom.
Police arrested the suspect at his home, where they found dog carcasses, butchering utensils and the remains of dead dogs. Each dog is sold between 100 and 200 baht.
