Soldiers file complaint against leaders of friendship walk

SOLDIERS this morning (Jan. 23) filed a complaint with the police against 8 persons for arranging a friendship walk as this goes against a National Council for Peace and Order ban on political gatherings of more than five people without prior permission, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported.

The complaint was filed by Lt Col Phusit Klaihirak at Klong Luang police station in adjacent Pathum Thani province against 8 representative so the “People Go Network Forum” who arranged “We Walk  Friendship Walk.”

They were identified as Mr Lertsak Khamkongsak, Mr Anusorn Ounno, Mr Nimitz Thienudom, Mr Somchai Krachangsaeng, Miss Saengsiri Trimakka, Mrs Nutchnarod Thanthong, Mr Ubol Yuwha and Mr Chamnong Noophan.

Police investigators issued summons for them to come and hear the complaint, and if they do not show up, a second summons will be issued.

If they still do not show up then arrest warrants will be immediately issued.

The incident occurred on Saturday Jan. 20, 2018 with the 8 persons leading a gathering attended by around 150 people.

The complaint states that speeches were given at this event attacking the government’s work. The organizers also took turns to give the speeches and there was a clear separation of duties.
