13kg compressed cannabis seized at Krabi airport bathroom
POLICE seized approximately 13kg of compressed cannabis (brick weed) packed in a suitcase which was left at Krabi International Airport bathroom and are now urgently going through surveillance camera clips to track down the owner, Naewna newspaper said this afternoon (March 9).
A police team from Nuea Khlong station inspected the compressed cannabis which had been packed in plastic bags that were wrapped with a layer of clothing and placed in a wheeled suitcase after it was found in a cubicle of the men’s bathroom in the departure hall last night.
Pol. Col. Aphichat Chinaphen, superintendent of Nuea Khlong police station, said at around 11.50 p.m. he received a report that a suspicious suitcase had been found hidden at the men’s bathroom on the upper floor of this airport and quickly sent a police team there to investigate.
When they arrived they saw that airport officials had already opened the suitcase and found compressed marijuana packed in six double plastic bags and a single one. Six were wrapped with a light green sleeveless shirt and one a white spaghetti strap shirt. The whole lot was then taken to the police station as investigation continued.
