Draft Entertainment Complex act states casinos to cover maximum 10% of the zone
THE draft Entertainment Complex Act has passed its first reading by the Council of State with the legislation clearly stating that the casino must not exceed 10% of the compound’s total area, Amarin TV said today (Feb. 17).
The Council of State has opened public hearings during Feb. 15 and March 1 and so far 32 people have voiced their opinion.
The draft legislation clearly states in Section 18 (6) that the casino must not occupy more than 10% of the entertainment venue’s land area and similarly not more than that if it is located in a building.
In addition Section 46 states that in granting permission to operate the entertainment venue businesses each licence will be issued for at least four types mentioned in the appendix with casino being one of them. Those awarded a licence will be considered a licensee of other chosen businesses without having to submit a new application for a licence for each one of them. The permitted businesses must be mentioned in all the papers.
Meanwhile Section 63 states that the casino must be separated from the remaining entertainment venue with a fence and gate. Only businesses facilitating gambling will be allowed in the separate casino zone. Entry and exit will be controlled with a passport or an ID card or other identification documents being checked and a photo of the gamblers taken to comply with sections 64 and 65.
