Getting adventurous in the Pearl of Andaman
AS a tourism destination, Phuket offers a plethora of activities for you to enjoy, no matter if you’re old or young or visiting with your family, your friends or your loved one. Here is a list of some adrenaline rush activities that are not only fun, but safe, too.
Hanuman World
From the same owners of Flying Hanuman, Hanuman World has opened in the same area of Kathu, occupying a rather big forest land on the mountain where many different stations of zip lining are seated. Hanuman World was created with the whole family in mind; while the park offers the classic thrill riding attractions, it also boasts some more relaxing activities, such as the Sky Walk, ideally for families with young children to discover the jungle from the top of its trees.
Patong Go Kart
Located in between Kathu and Patong, right at the foot of Patong Hill, Patong Go Kart is waiting to offer a fun race. No matter if you are an experienced racer or an amateur, all are welcome at Patong Go Kart, which means an entire family can compete together in the 750-metre go kart track. There are a wide range of go karts to choose from, including high speed super karts, standard single karts, two-seater karts and kids’ karts. The venue comes complete with a 30-seat-round-view restaurant and seating area for the cheerers.
Jungle ATV Ride
ATV riding in Phuket is quite a popular activity not to be missed. The four-wheel vehicle ensures safety when exploring the deep jungle of Phuket. A trip usually lasts one hour and 30 minutes and will allow you to discover some great views of Phuket using unique paths you wouldn’t have known existed otherwise.
Anthem Wake Park
Located in Cherngtalay area, in Thalang district, the wake park uses a wide fresh-water lake for all water sports lovers to enjoy. Trainers are available should this be your first time riding the wakeboard on the first and only clock-wise wake park in South-East Asia. They recently added a water game park in the middle of the track; a great way to kill time while waiting for your turn on the circuit. The park offers transfers to/from your resort and a restaurant is available on site should you fancy a quick meal.
Parasailing
One that I haven’t tried myself, but always thought of one day, parasailing is available in Patong and Karon/Kata beaches any sunny day. The parasail wing is lifted from the ground by a speed boat moving from one end of the beach to the other. All flights are in tandem, to ensure your safety while in the air.
