16 giant catfish worth half a million baht
A 57-year-old fisherman in the northeastern province of Ubon Ratchathani is all smiles yesterday (Oct 6, 2019) after catching 16 giant catfish worth half a million baht from the Mekong River, sanook.com reported.
Mr. Boon Siton said he had cast a big net into the river and felt something very heavy when he tried to retrieve it. Other fishermen offered help and they were shocked to find 11 giant catfish inside the big net.
Mr. Boon caught five more giant catfish later on and other fishermen helped him load the catch.
The total weight of the 16 catfish was 2,520 kilograms and Mr. Boon shared the money with his friends who helped him.
