At 4 p.m. Prachin Buri city police station was alerted of a shooting at a market in the city’s Tha Ngam subdistrict with a team that rushed there finding one person shot dead and another injured at a petrol pump next to it.

Investigation showed that the gunman chased the two victims from their house in an alley next to the market and caught up with them at the petrol pump upfront where he sprayed bullets at them killing one and injuring the other.

He then hopped on a motorcycle and rode to Chao Phraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital where he parked at an adjacent house then walked to the grilled chicken shop and opened fire at diners there injuring four of them,

Relatives and bystanders then managed to catch the gunman and used knives to slash him to death.

Of the four persons who were shot at the grilled chicken shop one died later at the hospital with the toll being three – two victims and the gunman himself.

Police later identified the gunman as Mr. Surat (surname withheld), 38, and are gathering evidence to determine his motive.

However they did find out that the gunman had previously lived in a house next to this eatery and there had been a slashing attack there once before.
