Cyber police round up Taiwanese grey capital gang in Phuket

A GANG of Taiwanese grey capitalists who had set up an online system to quickly transfer money for illegal gambling website owners was arrested in Phuket, Naewna newspaper said late tonight (Feb. 11).

Pol. Lt. Gen. Trirong Phiwpaen, head of the Technology Crime Suppression Division, said their operation,  “Hunting Down the Island, Breaking Up International Grey Capital”, discovered that the service this group of suspects offered helped gambling website owners conceal their money trail while not having to themselves set up mule accounts.

They  very quickly transferred gambling cash to the beneficiary through dozens of mule accounts all in one go with the online gambling website operators not having to do so themselves much more slowly.

The suspects, who are both in Thailand and overseas, had set up an online system called tsn7.yourpay with an app for both Android and iOS phones called Tsnupay. Thais were hired to open mule accounts with facial scanning and upon receiving money quickly transfer it to the recipient while keeping a share of it.

Operators of several gambling websites were earlier arrested including GoatBet178, Icb365, Lavaslot777, Lava123, Sexybestbacarat, Sabestbacarat and were charged with advertising and inviting people to gamble and jointly organising online gambling.

Police investigated until they found out that the suspects who ran this financial system were Taiwanese who came here to commit their crime and hid in Phuket. They constantly moved to a new dwelling where they set up their headquarters, choosing luxury villas and condominiums, making it difficult to track them down.
