Drones to catch Thai criminals
A Thai parliamentary committee this morning (Feb. 7) agreed in principle to allow the Thai Police Department (TPD) to use new technology, including drones, to catch criminals, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported.
To better manage its manpower, the TPD will classify police stations into three levels. A small station will have around 50-70 policemen, with a medium-sized station getting between 100 and 120. A large station will be manned by 180-220 personnel.
To better serve the public, the committee agreed that each police station must spend no more than 30 minutes to process reports about missing documents, while oral questioning must be done within two hours.
