Drug dealer kills policeman and flees
A POLICEMAN was shot dead by a big drug trader in adjacent Pathum Thani province before dawn today (June 21, 2018) with the suspect managing to flee his house which the anti-narcotics police had surrounded, Sanook.com reported.
Pol Sgt Maj Arsarn Ketchampa, 32, was part of an anti-narcotics team from Nonthaburi province which followed up the seizure of drugs in Pathum Thani by luring the big-time drug trader, Mr Yongyuth or Rung, 27, to sell an undercover policeman 2,000 methamphetamine, or yaba, pills.
The police team had surrounded the suspect’s house in Soi Klong Luang 24, and just as he stepped out to go deliver the bundle of meth pills, Pol Sgt Maj Arsarn, who was nearest the suspect, moved in to arrest him,
The suspect shot the approaching policeman once with the bullet going through his left chest and ran away.
The other policemen quickly took Pol Sgt Maj Arsarn to Pathumvej hospital, reaching it at around 2.30 a.m., but he later died.
Forensics police went to the scene of the killing and found blood, a mobile phone and 2,000 meth pills there. They have taken photos as evidence and police are chasing Yongyuth.
