Fake passport gang arrested
Thai Customs Department officials last night arrested a 60-year-old Thai man and a 42-year-old Myanmar woman and charged them with bringing foreigners into Thailand with fake passports, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported yeaterday (Feb 15, 2019).
The officials raided the couple’s office on the outskirts of Bangkok and seized 722 fake Myanmar passports. The suspects earned 2,000 baht for each fake document.
The couple have run this illegal business for more than 10 years and earned millions of baht from it, said the paper.
