Fierce rainstorm lashes Phuket
THE whole of Phuket island was hammered by strong continuous rainfall since 8 a.m. this morning (June 5, 2018) leading to many areas being flooded including the popular Patong beach, Spring News reported.
Other flooded areas included Thao Thepkasattri Bridge till Thalang- Suan Maphrao curve while a toppled tree blocked the shortcut to the airport.
Phuket Municipality has sent out officials to check the flooding and monitor the pumping stations while helping those affected by the powerful rainstorm and strong winds and also working on the traffic flow.
All those on the island today are urged to be careful, particularly if they are in areas prone to flooding such as Talad Yai and Talad Nua subdistricts.
