Italian tourist dies in Pattaya condo fall
AN Italian man of around 65 to 70 years of age died after falling from a condominium in Pattaya with a security guard saying he killed himself, Thai News Agency said today (May 28).
At 9 pm yesterday Pattaya city police were alerted of a death at a condominium and upon rushing there found the deceased to be an Italian tourist although there were no identification papers on him and also found a damaged Chonburi-registered Nissan sedan with its windshield smashed and roof dented.
Upon questioning the security guard police found out that the deceased drove a Chonburi-registered Mazda BT 50 pickup truck to the condominium and then took the lift to the eight floor after which he walked to a fire escape door and fell off. He fell on the Nissan sedan and then bounced off to the ground.
Police are checking security camera footage and also questioning those close to him to find out why he died.
