NSB finds international drug smugglers and drug shipment from Belgium.
There are 3 cases related to international drug smuggling caught by the Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB) this week. This includes a case of 3 international cocaine smugglers who were arrested in the airport after attempting to bring cocaine into Thailand, a case of a Thai citizen attempting to smuggle drugs in from Cambodia, and a package of drugs sent in from Belgium.
The NSB worked together with the Immigration Police and Customs in the first case. The Immigration Police arrested 3 suspects from Ivory Coast, Benin, and Kenya. The Ivorian had swallowed 1,600 grams of Cocaine, the Beninese swallowed 100 grams of Cocaine, and the Kenyan swallowed 1,400 grams of Cocaine. All 3 were arrested in Suvarnabhumi Airport while they were trying to get into the country, the drugs were found by X-ray. All the suspects attempted to smuggle drugs by swallowing, but the cases will be prosecuted separately.
The next case is the arrest of Anan Kongprapakul 27 years old from Tak province. He was arrested with 3 other men for attempting to smuggle drugs into Thailand. The drugs were originally from Cambodia. They were supposed to deliver the drugs to provinces in Central Thailand. Their plan of travel started in Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, and then they were arrested in Phitsanulok Province before they could continue the drug smuggling journey. The police seized 200 Kilograms of Crystal Methamphetamine from the suspects.
The last case involves 3 Thai suspects. A shipment had come into the country from Belgium. Inside the package were 24,000 pills of ecstasy, 100 pills of Yaba pills (methamphetamine), 0.62 grams of crystal meth, and 800 grams of heroin. The police seized the package and tracked the receiver’s address in Kamphaeng Petch Province. The drugs were mixed inside roast coffee beans packed in sealed bags. When the police inspected the receiver’s address they found 3 suspects. The suspects brought the police to their home where more drugs were found including crystal meth, heroin, and yaba pills.
Officials also seized 3 homes worth 8 million THB, 3 vehicles worth 1.9 million THB, 4 motorbikes worth 200,000 THB, together coming to over 10 Million THB of goods connected to the sales of drugs.
