Police confirm pipe or ping pong bomb used in small blast
POLICE confirmed that the explosion in a dustbin near the fence of the old Government Lottery Office on Ratchadamnoen Road at 8 p.m. last night was caused by a low-pressure bomb with this either being a pipe or a ping pong variety and not an improvised explosive device, Thai News Agency said today (March 6).
The commander of Metropolitan Police said more evidence was collected during an additional inspection by Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Forensic Science Division officers this morning with this including metal and circuit board pieces and what seems to be a part of a metal pipe and all this will be checked in detail to determine the type of bomb.
Two persons were slightly injured in this explosion, Thai News Agency added.
