Poor rainfall hits rice farmers in Nakhon Phanom
Rice farmers in the northeastern province of Nakhon Phanom are worried about poor rainfall which will affect their first rice crop this year, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported yesterday (July 25, 2019).
The level of water in Oon and Songkram rivers is now critically low, and the farmers are worried that their first rice harvest this year will be low.
The number of fish caught in the two rivers has also gone down, “The amount of fish we have caught this year in the lowest in 10 years,” a farmer told Thai Rath.
