Russian mafia arrested and other cases.
The Immigration Police has reported recent big arrests in Thailand. One of these cases includes the arrest of a Russian mafia member. The Russian man is a member of a group that would take care of illegal funds. This includes withdrawing and transferring illegal funds through electronic options. There are 1,643 Million THB in circulating funds. Nakoro 32 years old from Russia is the suspect who has also overstayed his visa. The suspect has been delivered to the Kuankon Police Station in Satun Province. Investigation Police at Satun Immigration received information on 21 November 2023 of a suspicious foreigner near the border in Satun.
Officers who were at a traffic stop near the Malaysian border inspected the suspicious man. Police asked to see Nakoro’s passport and discovered his visa had expired. Immigration systems revealed that Nokora has a Red Notice out for him. A Red Notice is issued by Interpol as a request to law enforcement worldwide to arrest a person. Nakoro is a member of a large mafia group operating in Russia. The group makes money by charging a fee to take care of money made from illegal activities. The fee is 10% of the money and most customers remain anonymous to keep their identity secret. Nakoro’s main job is to find customers for the business.
Immigration Police also arrested Adi 63 years old from Italy. Adi has overstayed his visa in Thailand but he is wanted in Italy after robbing disabled persons. Interpol in Roam sent a letter to Thai officials to help find Adi. The suspect is wanted with a Red Notice after involvement in a group that robbed an elderly blind man and his disabled wife. The group broke into the victims home and used physical violence to rob the couple. They managed to get away with 28,000 euros (1,077,000 THB), diamond jewelry. watches, and the victim’s bank books. Adi was arrested by Chonburi Immigration officials after investigation revealed he was hiding in Bang Lamung, Chonburi Province.
