Samut Sakhon governor found with new Corona virus
Samut Sakhon Governor Wirasak Wijitsaengsi has been found with a new strain of Coronavirus called SARS-CoV-2, Sanook.com reported yesterday (28 Dec 2020).
Public health officials have provided medical check-ups for Public Health Minister Anutin Chanveerakul and other officials who were in close contact with the governor on Sunday (27 Dec 2020).
Mr. Anutin was not found with the virus, but he would be in state quarantine for at least 14 days. He had already canceled his cabinet meeting on 29 Dec 2020.
Also at the meeting was Public Health Secretary-General Kiattipoom Wongsajit, who would also be in state quarantine.
Samut Sakhon has been a center of the spread of Covid-19 for several weeks, with 1,548 locals now under state quarantine.
