Tourists confident of security in Soi Nana, Bangkok.

The Tourist Police inspect Soi Nana after a post that went viral from a female Chinese tourist. The tourists who were present in Soi Nana during the inspection expressed that they are confident in the security. Officials are also present in the area at all times. Police Colonel Korawit Thongsriwanit gave orders to related officials to inspect Soi Nana following a viral post from a Chinese tourist. The post included a video of the tourist warning others of going to Soi Nana claiming it is a dangerous location in Thailand for women. The location in the video is in front of the Nana Hotel. Police talked with employees named Mai and Sakon from the hotel and received information that the area is very safe.

The employees stated Soi Nana has remained a popular hangout spot for both locals and tourists. The news that went out is not true and the area has been very safe. The employees believe how the tourist dressed might have attracted some unwanted stares but there is no real danger. The Police Colonel states that Soi Nana is very popular among tourists and there are always officers in the alley. Soi Nana is also a part of the Strong Tourist Community (STC) that intends to prioritize the safety of tourists and their belongings.

The police inspected the area including the hotel and businesses in the area. After talking to business owners and tourists from Europe and China they did not find any concerns in security. The tourists also expressed that they feel confident in the security and police presence in the area. Police also want to inform locals and tourists to call the emergency line 1155 if they see any danger or concern towards tourists. This emergency line is open 24 hours and English is available.
