Warm welcome for young governor
A LARGE crowd of people in Nakhon Phanom province, many of them women, this morning (Oct 1, 2018) gave a warm welcome to their new governor with pomp and pageantry, Sanook.com reported.
At 44, Mr Sayam Sirimongkol is the youngest governor in the history of this northeastern province. His previous positions were inspector-general and deputy governor of Samut Prakan Province, adjoining Bangkok.
As he entered the airport, a local band sang a welcome song and a large crowd of women showered him with bouquets of flowers.
The new governor is single.
