Youth arrested with 175 kgs ganja
AN 18-year-old youth was arrested in Klong Toei today (August 22) after police found 175 kilograms of marijuana stashed in his house, Thai News Agency said.
Tha Rua police seized the 175 one-kilogram bars of marijuana from Naruerong Fangsom, or James, after investigation indicated that the suspect smuggled and hid the drug at his house in Klong Toei community.
Metropolitan Police chief Pol. Lt. Gen. Sanit Mahathavorn said police investigators followed the suspect for over a month before asking the court for a search warrant and upon checking his house found the large amount of marijuana hidden there.
Upon being questioned James confessed that he was hired by a woman for 20,000 baht to keep the drug in his house and told if he were able to sell the marijuana he would get 200 baht a kilogram and that he had sold some of it. He added that this is the first time he got involved in the drug trade.
