Major cocaine dealer arrested on Koh Phangan

‘A NIGERIAN man who came to Thailand as a tourist then became a major cocaine dealer on Koh Phangan was arrested in a sting operation last night (March 1), TV Channel 7 said today.
At approximately 11.50 p.m. a police team arrested Mr. Ugoma Jefta Nusbech (name translated as written in Thai), 37, after he drove up in a sedan to the front of Panthip market to deliver some cocaine to an undercover policeman who had contacted him via an app to buy some of this drug. Just as he handed the drug to the policeman in disguise, who checked that it was cocaine, the other policemen hiding nearby moved in and arrested him.
Police said the suspect is a major drug dealer on Koh Phangan and has also distributed cocaine in Phuket and Krabi. He sold one gramme of cocaine for 6,000 baht .
He charged a higher price for orders from other provinces because he had to hire someone to personally deliver it to avoid inspection by officials.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Saksira Pueak-am, head of Tourist Police, ordered all units to urgently crackdown on wrongdoing by foreigners who have infiltrated tourist areas and commit all kinds of crime. This is essential in creating a good tourism image and building confidence among tourists.
