Full activities for parties by December

The government will allow political parties to engage in full political activities no later than December, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported yesterday (November 1, 2018).

In an interview with the paper, Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan said all political parties can now seek new members, but other political activities have yet to be approved by the government.

Gen Prawit declined to comment on whether Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will join a political party and contest the next general election. “This issue has never been raised for consideration,” he said.
