PM Prayut holds key business talks in Paris

PRIME Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha held key talks in Paris this morning (June 23, 2018) with Thai business people to find out  obstacles and problems in bilateral trade and their suggestions which he could raise in his talks with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday, Thai News Agency reported.

At this meeting, which took place at 10 a.m. French time and was attended by both Thai business people who have invested in France and those who accompanied him on this trip, Gen Prayut said the objective of visiting France is to strengthen economic cooperation between the 2 countries because there is a lot more potential to increase trade and investment.

The Prime Minister said in his talks with the French leader he will stress the opportunity to invest in Thailand, particularly in the Eastern Economic Corridor.

There are many projects that France excels in and could join and among them are rail infrastructure, aircraft industry and innovation.

Gen Prayut added that France is very interested in the  high-speed rail project linking 3 airports,  Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang and U-Tapao.

The Prime Minister also invited Thai and French public to join the “Transforming Thailand : Thailand-France Partnership” event at Thai embassy.

This was jointly arranged by the Thai Board of Investment and Mouvement des Entreprises de France, or the Movement of the Enterprises of France, which is the largest French employer federation.
