Thailand e-visa online also available on www.eVisaThailand.com
Bangkok, 17 December, 2019 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) would like to provide updated information that the electronic visa-on-arrival (e-VOA) is now also available on www.eVisaThailand.com, in addition to the two websites announced last month.
The e-VOA service by www.eVisaThailand.com is available to visitors from 18 countries and 1 territory who arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang International Airport, Phuket International Airport, Chiang Mai International Airport, and Krabi International Airport.
To apply for a Thailand e-VOA, applicants need to complete the electronic form on www.eVisaThailand.com, upload the necessary documents, pay the online fee, and download the approved e-visa for entering Thailand.
The online e-VOA application will reduce the time for applicants to go through the Immigration checkpoint at their arrival airport.
The applicant must be a citizen of one of the nationalities deemed eligible for a visa on arrival as per the Ministry of Interior’s announcement. The eligible nationals are Bhutan, China (including Taiwan), Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Nauru, New Guinea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, and Vanuatu. The service will soon be available for citizens of these nations – Bulgaria, Cyprus, Malta, and Romania, as stated on the website.
The e-VOA granted is valid only on the arrival date stated in the application form. The passport must be valid for over 30 days with one blank page available for a visa stamp. The purpose of visit is for a short stay/travel in Thailand for no longer than 15 days. The applicant must have a confirmed ticket for the return trip within 15 days. The accommodation address in Thailand must be verified. Applicants must also have sufficient means of living (minimum 10,000 Baht/person; 20,000 Baht/family).
The visa fee is subject to the Immigration Bureau of Thailand’s policy, and must be paid in Thai currency only. The applicant is required to pay for a non-refundable online visa processing fee, including VAT 7%.
From now until 30 April, 2020, applicants will be exempt from the 2,000 Baht visa fee, but they are still required to pay the online processing fee to www.eVisaThailand.com, at 530 Baht until 31 December 2019. From 1 January, 2020, the fee will be increased to 560 Baht.
