Don Mueang passport scanners working again after a hitch

AFTER a post went viral on Thai social media police this afternoon (Sept. 29) admitted that the automatic passport scanners did not work for a while at Don Mueang Airport this morning but they are now again running in tip-top condition, Thai News Agency said.

Pol. Col. Krisana Pattnacharoen, the deputy police spokesman, gave an explanation after news spread rapidly on Thai social media that the auto gate at Don Mueang had stopped working.

He said the immigration checkpoint at Don Mueang Airport had sent a report that both the auto scanners and the immigration scanners did not work for a while this morning after the network company’s system failed which prevented the relaying of the signals to the Immigration Bureau’s server.

However this problem was quickly solved and the system was running again at 9 am.

Pol. Col. Krisana added that all immigration booths at Don Mueang Airport were manned during this period and it is not true that there were just two officials working as reported on social media.
