The main instigators of the event are Suwit Jaiphom who is the vice president of the Art Bridge Chiang Rai and Chalermchai Kositpipat, a well-known national artist.

Both revealed that the painting will be a significant and historic piece of art that every artist involved will be very proud to have been a part of in paying tribute to a great King.

Chalermchai said: “We have hundreds of excellent artists here in Chiang Rai and so we called on them to be part of this event to pay homage to our beloved King. Furthermore, His Majesty himself is an excellent artist having painted numerous portraits and paintings as well as creating other art works. What we are doing can be considered as artists paying tribute to a fellow artist who happens to be a benevolent and much respected monarch.”
