Former MP: Premier Prayut is ready to set up a party
A FORMER member of parliament said an admission by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha earlier this week that he is now a politician is a signal that he is ready to set up a political party, INN News reported today (Jan. 5).
Samart Kaewmeechai, a former MP from northern Chiang Rai province for Pheu Thai party, said in describing himself as a politician Gen. Prayut, who is also head of National Council for Peace and Order, is sending a signal that he is ready to enter the political arena.
Steps on setting up a political party should already be clear only that it is not known who is working on it, he added.
Samart praised Prime Minister Prayut’s move, saying he is giving the public another choice in keeping with democracy, and that he would be a principled politician just as he wants others to be.
