Woman gets 8m baht electricity bill
A 55-year-old businesswoman in Ayutthaya province was shocked after receiving a monthly electricity bill of more than 8 million baht, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported yesterday (Dec 24, 2019).
Mrs. Tanyanan Ketparn said she had never failed to pay the monthly bill, which is normally around 18,000 baht a month. “Last month, I paid 30,000 baht because my two sons returned home for a summer break,” she said.
“I was shocked to see the bill for 8,037,742.63 baht in my mailbox yesterday and immediately informed the official concerned,” she said. “He apologized and issued a new bill for 13,328.07 baht.”
