Cool weather in Bung Karn

With the temperature plunging to around 18 degrees Celcius in the northeastern province of Bung Karn, locals and tourists had to lit up campfires to keep themselves warm, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported yesterday (Dec 30, 2019).

The Meteorological Department said a high-pressure wedge from China has descended on the northern and northeastern regions of Thailand and this has caused the temperature to plunge further.

Temperatures on mountains in the northern and northeastern regions are likely to be around 5 to 13 degrees Celcius.
