Cabinet to approve extra holidays for 2025

THE CABINET is set to approve additional public holidays for 2025 particularly Friday Jan. 2 so that New Year celebrations could stretch across five days, TV Channel 7 said this morning (Nov. 120.

With Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra currently in Peru to attend the 31st Apec Economic Leaders’ Meeting and related meetings during Nov. 10-18, Deputy Prime Minister/Defence Minister Phumtham Vejjayachai will chair today’s cabinet meeting.

With the addition of extra holidays to be approved today there will be a total of  21 public holidays in 2025.

Aside from Jan. 2, two other additional holidays are as follows:

– Monday, June 2, 2025 will be declared a special public holiday, resulting in a total of four consecutive holidays from May 31 to June 3. Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana’s birthday anniversary is on June 3.

– Monday, August 11, 2025 will also be declared a special public holiday resulting in four consecutive holidays from Aug. 9 to Aug. 12, 2025. Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother’s birthday anniversary is on August 12.
