8 Thai, Myanmar theft suspects arrested

POLICE rounded up 8 Thai and Myanmar suspects on the charges of stealing motorcycles and breaking into houses with 19 motorbikes seized from one gang and 4 from the other, INN News reported today (Jan. 9).

Pol. Lt. Gen. Suwat Changyodsuk, head of Regional Police 1, said of the 5 members of the first gang of thieves one was a Thai, Thawat or Wat Srisuwan, 43, and the remainder Myanmar nationals.

Investigation showed that during December this gang stole 19 motorbikes from various places in Nonthaburi and its vicinity, and hid them in Soi Taima 19 in this province, which adjoins Bangkok.

All five admitted that they were hired by Mr Ting Ko Ko Yu, or Hudson, a Myanmar national, to steal motorbikes from various areas and store them at this place, with the stolen motorbikes to be later taken to Mae Sot border town and then into Myanmar.

The three members of the second gang are all Myanmar nationals who have been in Thailand for around 10 years. They have admitted to have broken into 10 houses and stolen 4 motorcycles.
