Big hunt for two bank robbers

POLICE are hunting down two men who robbed a bank in Nonthaburi’s Bang Yai area with a fake hand grenade yesterday and made off with over 200,000 baht, Thai News Agency said today (April 21).

Deputy Chief of Police Region 1 Pol. Maj. Gen. Thanayuth Wuthijarasthamrong went to Bang Yai police station in the middle of last night for an investigative meeting to quickly track down the two robbers who raided Thanachart Bank Bang Yai branch yesterday afternoon and took off with over 200,000 baht.

Bank robbery oneThe investigation team of Bang Yai police station, Nonthaburi provincial police and Police Region 1 officers are analyzing the escapte routes and consider this robbery to be a challenge because the two men were aggressive and fearless.

CCTV cameras at the scene of the crime captured all their images from when they parked their vehicle, mounted the robbery and escaped and police expect to capture them soon.

All units were instructed to more stringently enforce the law and bank managers were also told to cooperate by hiring security guards to take care of their premises and install alarms linked to nearby police stations.

Police are also working on dividing this district into various zones and pinpointing risky and dangerous spots to carefully monitor in future.

This afternoon Deputy National Police Chief Pol General Chalermkiat Sriworakhan will be going to Bang Yai police station for a meeting to hunt down the robbers and proceed with further legal action.
