Cabbie badly beats ups and steals from passenger

AN auto engineer who was returning to his home in Bangna area from a bar in Ekamai was severely beaten up by a taxi driver who took all his belongings and dumped him by the roadside in the wee hours of last Saturday, the Thai-language daily Matichon reported today (Oct 15, 2018).

Mr Nopporn Phrombut, 39, said he was drunk when he hailed a cab in front of Cassette Music Bar at Ekamai soi 10  around 2 a.m. of Saturday October 13, but he does not remember the brand nor the license plate number nor what happened next. When he woke up again in front of a tire shop on Srinakharin road at 6 a.m. he found that he face was bleeding and there were blood stains all over his body.

All his possessions, including 1 baht weight gold chain, a G-shock watch, a Samsung S6 mobile phone, a pair of silhouette eyeglasses worth 20,000 baht and 3,500 baht cash, had disappeared.

However another taxi driver took him home without charging a fare and after that he went to Ramathibodi Hospital for treatment. Upon reaching the doctors immediately wheeled him in for surgery because his nose was completely broken.

He said when he is better he will go and file a report at Thonglor police station to catch this violent cabbie to prevent him from striking again.
